Early Celebrations

So my birthday is in two weeks (Holy Cow! I'm going to be 27!) but because of busy schedules we had to choose between celebrating with my parents 2 weeks early or 2 weeks after.
So I think for the first time in my life I celebrated my birthday before it was actually my birthday!My mom made a delicious dinner of chicken fried rice, sweet and sour pork and crab & cream cheese wantons. YUM!

It was a pretty low-key evening. Just dinner and hanging out with the fam. What more could you ask for though?! A few weeks ago my mom asked me what I wanted for my birthday and without hesitation I said "A massage!" So my family got me a gift certificate for a pregnancy massage and a pedicure! I am so excited! Eric is going out of town for his friends wedding in 3 weeks and it sounds like the perfect time to pamper myself!! I can't wait!! And Eric let me go shopping as an early birthday present so I could get some new shirts! Yay!!

My birthday would not be complete without Death by Chocolate (which is just a chocolate trifle made with brownies and pudding!) I think that it has been my dessert of choice for like the last 10 years! Why change something that is perfect?!?

Yup! I am really excited and of course, I was not disapointed!!

It's been awhile.....

Life has been a little bit busy and I feel like a lot has been going on.
First and foremost.....Brooklynn!! She is continuing to grow, of course, and so is my belly!

(I received a polite request for more prego pictures from Stephanie and Ali and I will do my best to comply).










We had our 28 week appointment on Wednesday and she still has a strong healthy heartbeat, which is always nice to hear.
I am finally experiencing sore, swollen feet. The funny thing is that my left foot gets twice as big as my right foot! I was thinking that that was because I have poor circulation and I worried that it would somehow affect Brooklynn. But my doctor says it's no cause for concern, so I'm good!

What else has been happening?
We sold Eric's car....We decided that we really don't need two cars since we carpool to work and hardly ever have separate things to do at the same time, i.e. we pretty much spend all our time outside of work together! And we definitely don't need two car payments!! It is so nice to lose a $250 monthly payment!! Another reason we decided to sell the car is because of a very big decision that we've made: I will not be going back to work after Brooklynn comes!! I am so happy and excited that we are in a position to allow me to stay home. I just don't want to send my sweet baby girl to daycare and have half of my income go to it! I am really hoping that I can bring in the little extra income we might need with my Tastefully Simple business .

Another rather big decision has come from our decision to sell Eric's car. We know that with only having one car we may run into conflicts where we have different schedules/different places to be. (We've actually already had some small snags in our schedule, but worked them out rather well). Anyways....to fix this problem in the future we are buying a motorcycle for Eric! You may think I am crazy but I am totally ok with this decision! Since Eric has never really ridden a motorycle he is taking a motorcycle class, he got to ride yesterday and he had lots of fun!

Less than 100!

It's official!! We have less than 100 days til our due date! I really can't believe it. I feel like there is so much to do and get and I have no idea where to begin!

I had an early morning companion this morning...just a little taste of what is to come!!

Eric had a doctor's appointment this morning (he goes to the doctor his sister works at). Nicole usually takes Bryson with her to work for a few hours and then takes him to the sitter. She asked if I would watch him so she could get more work done and then Eric could take Bryson when he went to his appointment. Who wouldn't want to watch the cutest nephew in the world when they are up anyways!
I can't believe how big he is getting! He is Mr. Chubs now!! We do not see them enough and they just live 15 min away!!

Moving for Daddy

So Eric's coworker is having a baby and they are like a month behind us, Eric was telling me at dinner that Scott was asking him if Brooklynn is moving around like crazy, which she really isn't. But she started moving a lot after I got done eating and I finally got Eric to feel it!!!
It was a tiny little kick but he felt it!! I loved seeing his expression (you know the look when someone is like "OH!") and the huge grin on his face!

25 weeks?!?!!?

So my Dad likes to use the countdown app on his iphone and he has one for Brooklynn's due date.
I was talking to him yesterday morning and he told me that we have 103 days and that on Wednesday we will be in the double digits! Holy cow!! So close to 99 days to go!
Where has the time gone?!?!?
I remember sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas telling Eric that as soon as January hit that time was just going to fly by. Well, it most certainly has!! It just keeps getting closer and closer.

Last weekend (as part of our Valentine's date) Eric went shopping with me so that I could get some more shirts and while we were at Burlington Coat Factory I gave him my big puppy dog eyes and asked if we could get something for Brooklynn.
Well, because he is so amazing and loves me so much he said that I could, on one condition....he had complete veto power and I was able to override his veto once. He is such a funny man!! The whole veto came in because he does not want everything to be PINK. In fact one of the first things he said after our ultrasound was that I was going to have to tell my friends that they can't buy a bunch of pink things. (Fortunately for him I am more of a purple person than a pink person).
Anyways....we settled on this adorable 4 piece set (even though it's pink!) because it was too cute to pass up!

Brooklynn hasn't really been moving any more than she has the past few weeks, but the other night as I was going to sleep I felt like she had some pretty big kicks that I could feel on my belly. So I've been trying to get Eric to feel her. Unfortunately she moves very sporadically and he hasn't been able to feel it yet. Maybe this week....

Isn't this just the perfect "Cara" picture?! I love her cute little feet and I am so glad that technician got a picture of them!!

Where has the time gone?! We're already at 24 weeks...over halfway and I really can't believe it.

Cereal before bed!!

(Cap'n Crunch was on sale and since I am my father's daughter that is the cereal of choice for the next few weeks...or as long as my boxes last!)

I hate

Ants!!!

Especially when they are in my kitchen! We have been invaded! I found them Saturday morning and thought that after a good cleaning they would go away. They've been sticking around though, even with all the sugar in the fridge! They are driving me crazy. The Clorox wipes are living on the counter top and I don't think my counter has ever been so clean with as many times as it has been wiped down in the last few days! I do think they are slowly dissipating, so hopefully by the end of the week they will be gone, hopefully!
We have never had a problem with ants before and think that maybe our new neighbor is attracting them and they are somehow wandering over to us from them. Not nice!
