Growing!!

So last Saturday I was sitting on the couch reading while Eric was watching a movie and all of a sudden I felt a poke!! That's right Baby starting moving!! It was so fun and exciting to experience.
I have really enjoyed the little flutterings of our tiny baby this week! The movements are still random and not all that often, but I feel like we've reached a new stage of our pregnancy. And I can stop worrying that something is wrong because I haven't felt any movement yet. I can't wait for Baby to get bigger and stronger so that Eric can feel the kicks and jabs too!

I woke up Tuesday morning and looked at myself in the mirror and just felt like my belly had grown quite a bit from the day before (which was actually exciting for me). I forgot to ask Eric what he thought until we were in the car driving to work and so I didn't think that I would get a confirmation from him. But to my surprise he told me that he had thought the same thing the night before. So it's official.....my baby belly is getting bigger!!!

What do you think?

20 weeks....

So we had our 20 week appointment on Thursday......
I wish that I had a big announcement to make about what we are having, but I have a baby that takes after me! Our baby is stubborn and shy!! Baby was all tucked up with feet hanging out right where we needed to be looking!! The technician had me lay on both of my sides and giggled baby around, but baby just didn't want to move. Being a stubborn person myself I can just imagine that our baby was thinking, "I'm comfortable and don't want to move and you can't make me!!"

Baby 1 Technician 0....I am sure this is the first of many "wins" for our baby!

But there is light at the end of the tunnel! Because of baby's position the technician said she couldn't get all the diagnostics that she needed, so we have to go back in a few weeks for another ultrasound. Darn, right?! So, for the next few weeks I will be speaking with our baby about the importance of being in a good position and cooperating with the technician. Mommy has planning to do and needs to know what baby is so she can do all she needs to! (Plus Mommy doesn't want to have to ground baby before it's even born and Daddy did enough of that during my sick weeks!)

Fortunately what the technician was able to see looked good. It was so fun to have my mom there to be with us as we got to see the baby's sweet little face and the cutest little hands! And not to mention a wonderful spine (baby sure wasn't shy about sharing that with us!) So even though we didn't get to find out what we are having it was an amazing experience and we loved being able to see our precious little one.
Here's to some better pictures in a few weeks! We sure can't wait to see you again!
