Birthday Fun (before the actual birthday)!!

Tonight we celebrated my birthday with my family. (We are going to be out of town next weekend, so we celebrated a little early.) My aunt Nancy and her husband are in town to visit his daughter and grandson so we got to spend the evening with them as well.

Yummy food, family, and presents....what more could a girl ask for?!?!?

Thanks, mama for a great dinner!!

We had my favorite meal (which I think I have had for my birthday the last 10 years): flank steak, spinach salad, glazed carrots, and rice pilaf. And of course for dessert some death by chocolate!!

It's not a birthday without death by chocolate!!

I know you probably don't really care what I got for my birthday but I wanted to share what my dad got me....

It's a marshmallow gun!! (and a funny look on my face!)

This is a much more effective way to have a marshmallow fight, which I have been known to have every once in a while.
Watch out or I'll get you!!

Good thing Eric doesn't have his own marshmallow gun, or I'd be in trouble!!

Eric and Dallin had fun shooting the marshmallows in the air and trying to catch them in their mouths. It's harder than you would think!

Thanks everyone for a great night and the great gifts!! Even though it's not quite my birthday it was definitely a good one!!!

Survival...

This has definitely been a week of survival!!
I am in the second half of my paralegal course and it is totally kicking my butt!! I have so many moments of wanting to quit this week while trying to get my homework done. I was having a really hard time understanding and figuring out what I was supposed to be doing. Thankfully, I have a loving husband who tells me not to quit because I am smart enough to figure this out. My mom was on the end of one of my mini-breakdowns yesterday and she was (of course) just as supportive and encouraging as Eric. So, with their help and support I was able to pull myself through the mounds of homework and make it through the week!!
Eric has survived his first week working for the city of Tukwila, which really wasn't all that hard at all. He's had a good week full of training and orientation and it ready to get into the "meat and potatoes" of the position. I had the opportunity to meet most of his coworkers today and found out that they love working with him. That really is no surprise to me since I know that he is amazing and is able to get along with anyone and everyone.
The most important survival story of the week has to do with both of us. With Eric's new job we have limited contact during the day. Ever since we started dating we have been able to talk to each other all day online....now not so much! It's been hard, but we are learning how to survive without each other all day long! (It's probably harder for me since I am home all day by myself)
Yay for surviving!!

First Day

Eric starts his new job today!!!

YAY!!!

We are both so happy and excited for this job. As I mentioned before, it is such a great opportunity for him to learn and gain experience to help him down the line as he furthers his career.

I thought that I would take some time to tell Eric how much I love and appreciate him. He is the best husband ever! He is so kind, considerate and caring. I love him so much and I couldn't ask for a better eternal companion.

After a yummy breakfast of biscuits and gravy (man, he is SO spoiled....but it's my fault) Eric is ready to head off to his new job!! (that is his best morning "happy face"~he is just not a morning person, which is a reason right there to love him...he'll get up and go to work!)

My handsome man, in his spiffy new work clothes, heading out the door.
(He probably thinks I am the biggest dork in the world for making him take this picture. But I have nothing better to do with my time than blog about his first day! And what is a first day blog without a "first day" picture?!)

Thank you, lovey, for loving and supporting me and for your unwavering faith in me!

I hope you have a great day! I know that you be amazing!!

I LOVE YOU!!!

Last Day

Yup!

That's Eric's car!!! Today was his last day at Thriftbooks and some of his coworkers left him a little going away surprise!!

That is pretty much the best saran wrap job I've ever seen!! I imagine it is much easier when you use industrial size rolls of saran wrap though.

Eric is pretty sad to leave Thriftbooks and will miss the people that he worked with. But we are truly excited for his new job and the opportunity for him to learn and grow.

4 Months.....

So yesterday Eric's sister, Dani, got married. It was the first sealing that we have been to since ours and it was kind of cool because today is our 4 monthiversary. It was nice to be there for them, but also to remember our wonderful day. I am so grateful for Eric. He is so loving and supportive, he has so much faith in me and I couldn't ask for a better husband!! I love you lovey.
I thought it would be fun to put up some pictures from our wedding (plus Jennie asked for them a while ago)!!

There we are....the lovely couple!

Eric's family and mine.

My mom's sisters were all able to make it, as well as my grandma (dad's mom) and dad's sister.

The bridesmaids, the groomsmen and the entire wedding party.

Cutting our beautiful cake which my aunts worked really hard on!

This picture pretty much sums up the day....it was wild and crazy fun!

Frogs....

Yup, that's right!

Frogs!!!

We have a lovely pond in the center of our complex which just happens to be right behind our condo.

Now that the weather is warming we have discovered that it is the home to thousands of frogs!

Okay! So maybe not thousands, but it sure does sound like it. The first few nights it wasn't really all that bad. It was kind of like, "Oh, how fun! We have frogs!"

But now....they are so loud!! I am pretty sure that they even woke me up the other night. When I was coming home last night and walking up to the door it was like there were 20 of them right beside me. It is definitely much louder outside than in. I'm thinking we wont be able to spend relaxing evenings on our "porch" this summer. We'll have to shout to be able to hear each other!!

How fun!!

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

So the last few days have brought some news into our house.....Last week Eric had an interview with the city of Tukwila. He got a call back yesterday and they offered him a "tentative" job. So they are offering him the position providing he passes a background check and his references pan out. I'm pretty sure that he will pass the background check and you pretty much give references that will talk you up anyways. We are pretty excited about this new job. It will allow Eric to gain more experience (and hopefully more money down the road!). I also heard back from my interview....unfortunately they are "unable to offer me a position at this time." So it's onward and upward I guess.....

Couch Project

When we bought our couch I didn't really like the pillows that it came with. I originally wanted the living room to be black, red, and white (or cream). What I was hoping for was a black couch with red and white/cream pillows. Unfortunately we only found one black couch that we liked and it was more money than we were willing to pay. We did find a tan couch that was exactly what we wanted and a reasonable price. The only thing I didn't like were the pillows. So a few weeks ago my mom and I went to JoAnn's and we found the most gorgeous fabric so that we could recover the pillows that came with the couch. I am pretty happy with how they turned out and I think they are absolutely beautiful!

Here is the final product....

Don't they look great with our couch?!?!?
