Slacker!!!

I have been a complete and utter slacker on the blog front lately! It's not that there hasn't been anything going on or that Brooklynn has stopped being super cute and figuring new things out it's just that I have had "writer's block." Anytime I think that I should sit down and blog I just don't have the desire to do it. After wasting like 40 minutes doing nothing on the computer I am finally getting down to business! Yay me!! It's been so long that I had to look at my last months posts and the pictures on the camera to even remember things that have happened in the last month.

First off, my little girl is going to be ONE in 2 weeks!!!!!!! Who let this happen?! It certainly wasn't me. She may be turning 1, but she thinks that she is 2. She thinks that she can just do anything and go anywhere. There is just no stopping this girl. She is a little monkey climbing on and in everything.

She has some new, pretty amazing faces (she definitely gets it from me). There really is no good way to describe them, so pictures will just have to do.
This isn't a silly face, but I love it when she smiles like this!
Eric says she is working on her "Blue Steel" when she does this.
Is she my daughter, or what?!?!
Brooklynn gets to spend a lot more time with her cousin Bryson since I started watching him 3 days a week for a couple hours each day. They have always loved each other and really have fun playing together. Brooklynn loves to sit on Bryson, or in his lap. It's pretty cute!

It may not look like it, but they were both having fun.

Brooklynn continues to amaze me with her intelligence. She catches on really quickly and is constantly amazing me. She figured out her stacking rings a few weeks ago and loves to bring them to me so that she can play. She will run to her room when I tell her it's time to change her diaper or put on pajamas to get either her diaper or her pajamas. She will also run to the kitchen if I tell her it's time for breakfast or lunch and a lot of times when I have the food ready she will run to her chair. (But when it comes to actually eating she is a little frustrating. She really just doesn't seem to have an interest in eating real food, she will have a few good eating days each week though. And she will eat crackers like no other. If anyone has any suggestions I welcome them with open arms!
When she does actually decide to eat, she is pretty good at feeding herself.

She still has a love for carrying things around and it doesn't seem to bother her if the item is almost as big as her or heavy (until she drops it on her foot!).

She loves, loves, LOVES playing outside. We take advantage of any good weather day and play at the park, or in the backyard. I went garage sale-ing a few weekends ago and found an awesome Little Tikes Cozy Coupe for super cheap. She loves her new toy and goes straight for it when we go out back.

She's had a couple of firsts lately as well:
First balloon (we tied it on her waist and
she thought it was pretty cool)
First time playing in a sandbox (with cousin Chloe)
Unfortunately she now thinks my garden is a sandbox
and she's killed 2 plants by stepping/sitting on them,
First time on a rocking horse, she wasn't too sure about it.
Helping Mommy bake.
She got to lick the spoon.
YUM!
Just because there hasn't been a picture of Brooklynn and her daddy in a while.

Look at those teeth! I love the "Edwards Gap" on her top teeth!

  1. Your mom and I enjoyed these photos. We're missing our family this Memorial weekend. Sooo looking forward to the Family Reunion in June.

In the 12th photo from the top, carrying the TP, she really looks like an Edwards. In fact she looks a lot like your cousin Devin when he was a wee chap. Funny how those traits pop up like that.
